National Museum of the US Air force

The National Museum of the US Air Force is the official museum of the United States Air Force and is located at 1100 Spaatz St, Dayton, OH 45433. The museum is one of the world's largest military aviation museums and features 360 aircraft and missiles.

There are several galleries within the museum, each featuring aircraft from different wars. The World War II gallery, for example, features a collection of assembled warbirds. It also features exhibits on the Battle of the Pacific in 1941 and the dropping of the atomic bombs on Japan. The exhibits also highlight the contributions of the Flying Tigers, Tuskegee Airmen, and Doolittle Raiders, as well as personal medals from America's two greatest aces.

The Museum's collection also includes the Boeing B-17F Memphis Belle, which was restored and was used during WWII. Other exhibits include the NASA's first Crew Compartment Trainer and the Space Shuttle Exhibit. The museum also features replicas of the Wright Brothers' planes, flight uniforms, and educational exhibits.

The Air Force Museum also features many educational programs and displays. Its education office has connections with thousands of schools and provides workshops, tours, and curriculum materials. A number of free online educational resources are also available. Through its educational programs, the National Museum of the US Air Force inspires the next generation to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and more.

The museum is open nine to five daily, including holidays. However, the museum is closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Visitors are required to wear a face mask when they are indoors. The museum also offers audiovisuals and written documentation. Its collections include a selection of aircraft parts. For a complete overview of the museum's collection, visit the website.

It was the first heavy bomber to return to the United States after 25 missions over Europe, as well as the B-29 Bockscar, which dropped the atomic bomb on Nagasaki. In addition, the museum's Korean War and Vietnam War collections include the F-86, MiG-15, and P-51 jets.
